About

Mike La Rosa is a native Floridian. His family moved to Osceola County from South Florida over 15 years ago upon his father’s retirement as founder and president of U.S. Construction Corporation. His mother is a first generation Cuban immigrant whose family fled the Castro regime.

After attending local high school in Osceola County, Mike attended the University of Central Florida, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communications and a minor in Political Science. Shortly thereafter, Mike along with his older brother Joseph, formed their own joint businesses of La Rosa Development and La Rosa Realty, specializing in commercial real estate development and residential sales.

La Rosa Realty began as a full service real estate brokerage in Osceola County in 2005, which was also the beginning of our nation’s economic down turn. It forced Mike to make tough decisions that were critical to the company’s survival while many others in the real estate industry were forced to close their doors. Despite the overwhelming challenges facing the real estate market and construction industry during these recent times, the La Rosa companies have become one of Florida’s largest and fastest growing real estate firms.

Mike is proud of his accomplishments as a businessman and major employer during a time period in which opportunities in the real estate market were virtually non-existent. Growing a small business; meeting payrolls; and facing economic challenges on a daily basis have become valuable skill sets that have led to Mike’s success.

On November 6th 2012, Mike was elected to the Florida House of Representatives representing District 42 which includes parts of Osceola and Polk counties.

Representative La Rosa proudly serves on the following committees: Business & Professional Regulation Subcommittee, State Affairs Committee, Local & Federal Affairs Committee, Justice Appropriations Subcommittee and is Vice Chair of the Energy & Utilities Subcommittee. He is also the chairman of the Osceola County Legislative Delegation.

Mike and his wife Holly have three young sons: Landon, Aiden and Liam.
